Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs)

photograph of a computer The term Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is used to refer to the "online" interactions of various kinds which take place between learners and tutors. The JISC MLE Steering Group has said that VLE refers to the components in which learners and tutors participate in "online" interactions of various kinds, including online learning.

Scottish Blackboard Users Group

This group has been created to facilitate the sharing of information and promote local support between Scottish educational institutions who are using Blackboard as their VLE. The Scottish Blackboard Users Group is hosted by the JISC Regional Support Centre Scotland South & West. Please contact us if you're interested in joining this group.

Scottish Moodle Users Group (SMUG)

This group has been created to facilitate the sharing of information and promote local support between Scottish educational institutions who are using Moodle as their VLE. The SMUG is jointly hosted by the two Scottish Regional Support Centres and we take it in turn to host the meetings in either Edinburgh or Glasgow

Celtic WebCT Users Group (Celtic WebCT)

This group has been created to facilitate the sharing of information and promote local support between Scottish and Irish educational institutions who are using WebCT as their VLE.
