The images here show an aerial view of the city of Hiroshima after the dropping of the bomb and also
the
aircraft, an American B29 bomber called 'Enola Gay' which was made from aluminium and therefore would
have looked a silver colour from the ground. Its four powerful engines would have made a deep droning
sound as they arrived over the target.
